Remote Desktop Licensing Configuration

l Sometimes we can’t launch the published App with XA Server as the Remote license server is expired. So we need to configure the localhost Remote Desktop licensing to resolve this problem. Below is the detail configuration info.

1. First of all, we have to install “Remote Desktop Licensing” role service for your XA server.

2. Leave it as default ,Click Next

3. Leave it as Default , Click Install

4. Click “Close” once installed successfully

5. Navigate to :

Start > Administrative Tools > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Licensing Manager

6. In RD licensing Manager right click the license server and select “Activate Server”

7. Click Next in Activate Server Wizard dialog

8. Leave it as Default (Automatic connection recommended), Click Next

9. Random input some info in Company Information dialog, just do not keep the text boxes as blank.

10. Optional information ,Next

11. Complete the Activate Sever Wizard, Next

12. Start install licenses wizard, Next

13. Select “Enterprise Agreement” in License program dropdown list. Next

14. Agreement Number : 5296992, Next

15. Product version : Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2,

License type : TS or RDS Per Device CAL,

Quantity: 9999 Next

16. Complete the install licenses wizard. Click Finish

17. Till now, the RD license server is activated

18. Navigate to :

Start > Administrative Tools > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Session Host Configuration

19. Double click “Remote Desktop license servers” to open the properties dialog.

20. Click “Close” in the opened dialog.

21. Select “Per Device” and click “Add” button in Properties dialog.

22. Select the installed localhost license server in “Add License Server” dialog and click “Add”

23. Click OK.

24. Click “Apply” and “OK” in Properties dialog.

25. RD Session Host Configuration completed.

Select “Licensing Diagnosis” to check the status.
